Around 17,000 people in the UK suffer deafness, ringing in the ears or other ear conditions caused by excessive noise at work.
The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 aims to ensure that workers’ hearing is protected from excessive noise at their place of work. This online course would fall into the category of a General Health and Safety Training course that Safety trainers would find useful to train relevant staff and employees exposed to noise in their work place. As well as meeting the training requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. It also meets the requirements of CHAS, SafeContractor, Construction line, Exor and other SSIP registrations plus HSE safety training requirements.
This online noise at work awareness course will help organisations meet their legal obligations and provide candidates with a basic awareness of the dangers associated with noise at work and the management and control measure required to control the risks.
After completing the course, candidates will:
Be aware of the dangers of noise at work;
Have knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework that underpins noise at work;
Be aware of the methods required to assess the risk from noise;
Be aware of the management and control requirements to ensure that risks are controlled effectively.
The course comprises 2 interactive modules and a final assessment. Links to recommended reading and additional resources may be provided within the training modules. These links are not mandatory and will not be tested for in the final assessment.
Duration
It takes approximately 45 minutes to complete the course in full. This can be spread out over multiple sessions or completed in a single session. There is no time limit for completion.
Assessment
All candidates must complete a multiple choice assessment after working through the training material. The candidate will be asked 12 multiple choice questions, randomly chosen from a larger question pool, and need to answer a minimum of 9 correctly to pass. Candidates will be given instant feedback after completing the assessment stating whether they have passed or failed. The assessment can be re-taken as many times as is required to pass at no additional cost.

Successful candidates will receive a RoSPA Assured/CPD Certificate and 1 CPD Credit.
The Noise training awareness certificate has no expiry date because there is no formally recognised period of validity for any health and safety training. The HSE recommends refresher training is carried out whenever it is felt necessary. Safety registration bodies such as CHAS, SafeContractor, ConstructionLine & SMAS and other members of the SSiP scheme recommend most re-training is done every 3 years.

For the best experience, we recommend using Google Chrome version 90 or later. We do not recommend using Internet Explorer to access our courses as this can cause compatibility issues and lead to a poor experience.

If you do not know all the learner details - no problem, you can return later and create the learners when it suits you.
The system automatically creates an admin group of your learners, this means you can access your learner accounts to obtain certificates or schedule reports on the progress of your group, useful for Health & Safety audits or Registration to organisations such as CHAS, SMAS, SafeContractor, ConstructionLine etc or site access when certificates are required.
