Modern Slavery Awareness - Target Audience

Slavery is a cruel and inhumane crime that, despite sounding old-fashioned, still exists around the world today. It affects the most vulnerable people in society who are unwilling or unable to speak out about their exploitation, making it difficult to understand the full extent of the problem and highlighting the importance of raising awareness of modern slavery.

Modern slavery is common in the UK, with estimates suggesting that over 100,000 people are living under slavery across the country. In this course, we explore the state of slavery in the UK in more detail, as well as covering how to identify potential victims of modern slavery and how to report them to the appropriate organisation, such as the Home Office or Modern Slavery Helpline.

This course is suitable for all workers, but is most appropriate for those who work with members of the public and may come into contact with victims of modern slavery. This includes, but is not limited to, those working in education, health, hospitality, or local authorities.
